I'm excited about today's podcast. It's a change in the Wednesday prayer experience... I love Lectio Divina, but as a veteran of more than a few Ignatian retreats, I'm happy to share with you an important element of Ignatian spirituality: the daily Examen.
In this version - developed by Fr. George Aschenbrenner, SJ - it focuses on being conscious of the movement of the Holy Spirit in our day... an Examen done in prayer, heart-to-heart, with the goal of maturing our faith and discernment. In the podcast I synthesize the steps and lead you in a quick prayer experience. Next week I'll do less explaining and give more space for you to practice this beautiful prayer experience/exercise.
